Vision and Execution

I wanted to create an engaging and educational project that incorporated video, audio, and text for a focused immersive experience.

This presented some challenges during development to get all the components to display on the screen correctly and at the appropriate time in Storyline 360. I wanted to ensure a smooth video, audio, and text experience while also allowing the learner to progress through the project at their own pace.

To do this, I used the Timeline in Storyline 360 to ensure the video, audio, and text would play at the appropriate times. I added triggers to loop the audio and video on each slide to have them appear uninterrupted with fading transitions in between regardless of the learner selecting to move to the next slide or not.

I used a contrast checker for accessibility since the text, and videos have semi-transparent elements that overlay each other. I also added an interactive icon on the last slide to give credit for content that was used. I developed the project referencing Influenza information from © 2024 The American National Red Cross.

Text-Based Storyboard

I assembled all the video files, audio files, and text components in the appropriate order in a text based storyboard before building out the actual project in Storyline 360.

Visual Mock Ups

After creating the storyboard, I began working on my visuals. I first organized my images that I would like to use that fit the content.

Then I created a style guide that included colors from the images, button styles and fonts to fit the theme.

Next, I created wireframes and visual mockups in Figma before building out the actual project in Storyline.

The final slide offers the learner the opportunity to restart the project if they wish to go back to the beginning. I also wanted to offer a way for the learners to obtain more detailed information on Flu prevention. Learners also have the option to choose to be directed to the redcross.org webpage for further learning.
